Indian wedding guest steps in to marry bride after groom disappears. The
bride was ready and willing, unfortunately the groom was less
enthusiastic.
With a wedding in full swing and guests at the
ready, disaster was imminent until a guest stepped in to save the day
after the groom failed to show up.
The 23-year-old bride known as Ponradha, from
Lakshmimanagaram in India's Kanyakumari district, was due to marry her
35-year-old groom, Sithiraivelu, last Wednesday.

Boy killed by dad's plow, A young boy died Wednesday after he was struck by a plow truck being driven by his father.
Nathan Capponi, 6, died at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a release.

12-year-old arrested, A Minnesota school district locked down several buildings Wednesday after a 911 call that authorities later said was a prank, and a 12-year-old boy suspected of making the call was arrested.
The 8 a.m. emergency call prompted a lockdown at the middle school, high school and Central Education Campus buildings in New Prague, 45 miles southwest of Minneapolis. The male caller said he was inside one of the school buildings, Scott County Sheriff Kevin Studnicka said.

Boy, 7, Killed At Gun Store, A man's handgun went off while he was holding it as he got into his truck in the parking lot of a western Pennsylvania gun store Saturday, and the shot killed his 7-year-old son, authorities said.
Joseph V. Loughrey, 44, of Sharpsville, was getting into the truck when the 9 mm handgun discharged, wounding Craig Allen Loughrey in the chest, according to state police. The boy died at the scene at Twigs Reloading Den in East Lackawannock Township, 60 miles north of Pittsburgh.

That is exactly what happened to Christine Duran, Christina Huerta and Isabel Robles when they visited Chilly D's Sports Lounge, part of the Cameo Club Casino, in Stockton, Calif., according to ABC affiliate News 10. When the three diners got their check they saw "fat girls" written on their bill.
"I got the bill, and I was like, why does the receipt say, 'fat girls?'" Duran told News 10. At first, her friends didn't even believe her. "[Huerta] was like, 'You're lying,' And I was like, 'No, I'm serious. Look at it.' She was like, 'fat girls?'"

Mars Rover Laser And Martian Rock - The Mars rover Curiosity zapped its first Martian rock on Sunday with a high-powered laser gun designed to analyze its mineral composition, and scientists declared their target practice a success.
The robotic science lab took aim at the fist-sized stone with its laser beam and shot the rock with 30 pulses over a 10-second period, NASA said in a statement issued from mission control at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory near Los Angeles.

Fearless Felix Parachute Jump 18 Miles Roswell - Skydiver "Fearless Felix" Baumgartner has done it again.
On Wednesday, Baumgartner took another stratospheric leap, this time from an altitude of more than 18 miles — an estimated 96,640 feet, nearly three times higher than cruising jetliners. He landed safely near Roswell, N.M., according to a project spokeswoman.
It's the second test jump for Baumgartner from such extreme heights and a personal best. He's aiming for a record-breaking jump from 125,000 feet, or 23 miles, in another month. He hopes to go supersonic then, breaking the speed of sound with just his body.
