Man Calls 911 For iphone Emergency
Man Arrested After Calling 911 Five Times To Complain About His Broken iPhone
An Illinois man was arrested early yesterday after he called 911 on several occasions to complain that his iPhone was not working.Michael Alan Skopec, 48, dialed police emergency operators five times to beef about his malfunctioning Apple product, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report.
Cops traced the calls to Skopec’s home, where he was arrested around 1 AM yesterday when he “refused to comply with orders from deputies,” according to a sheriff’s spokesperson. Skopec, pictured in the above mug shot, was charged with obstructing or resisting a peace officer, a misdemeanor.

Candy powered rocket car fuelled by Coke and Mentos breaks distance record.. travelling 239 feet
As motorsports go it's a long way from catching up with Formula 1.But the inventors known for making a vehicle with soda-and-candy-powered propulsion say they've set a new distance record.
Fritz Grobe and Stephen Voltz created a single-seat rocket car powered by 54 bottles of Coke Zero and 324 Mentos.

"Life in a drop of water": the nomination contest micrographs from Nikon. This year the competition is held in the 137th time, it is the oldest and most respected competition of its kind. He became a major event to showcase the beauty and complexity of the microscopic world, the competition celebrates the best of "micro-photographers" who create wonderful photos at the same time revealing the scientific view of the object.
The project "Life in a drop of water" includes photos from the contest this year, demonstrating the diversity and activity in a single drop of water.

The Kingdom of Salt
Salar de Uyuni (Spanish Salar de Uyuni) - a dried-up salt lake in the south of the desert plain in the Bolivian Altiplano, at an altitude of 3,650 m above sea level. 10 582 sq km area has and is the largest salt marsh in the world. The main minerals - halite and gypsum. The inner part is covered with a layer of salt thickness of 2.8 m. During the rainy season, salt marsh is covered with a thin layer of water and is transformed into the world's largest mirror surface. About 40 thousand years ago this area was part of Lake Minchin (itself detached from the ancient lake Ballivyan).

Life With the Lions
40-year-old artist and owner of a small menagerie in the town Vasilevka (Zaporozhye region), Alexander Pylyshenko yesterday began an experiment to co-host in the same cage with nine lioness Katya. According to some sources the artist wants to get into the Guinness Book of Records, on the other - thus collects the money for real, "big" zoo. At noon, Alexander bade farewell to his mother and wife, and then entered the cage, which is sealed. Pylyshenko expects to spend together with a lioness for 35 days. The situation complicates the fact that the lioness Kate is pregnant and is going to give birth soon.
