Kim Kardashian Pays $65,000 for Elizabeth Taylor Bracelets At Auction

Kim Kardashian has taken her Elizabeth Taylor fandom to new heights.

The reality star was among the winning bidders in the auction of the Oscar-winning actress' famed jewelry collection this week, TMZ reports.

Kardashian beat out other Taylor buffs, paying $65,000 for a set of three gold and jade Lorraine Schwartz bangles once owned by the late actress.


She was also one of the last people to interview Taylor for the March issue of Harper's Bazaar.

"You are my idol. But I'm six husbands and some big jewels behind. What should I do?," Kardashian, who recently split with second husband Kris Humphries after 72 days.

Taylor's entire jewelry collection brought in a record-breaking $116 million dollars when it was auctioned off this week by Christie's New York, more than double what was predicted.

The highest-selling item was the 16th century pearl, which once belonged to Mary Tudor, that was given to Taylor by her former husband Richard Burton in 1969. Known as La Peregrina, the pearl was sold for $11.8 million.

The auction of her haute couture, including the dresses from her two weddings to Burton, was sold Wednesday. Part of the proceeds will go to The Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation, her life passion since 1991.
