Fan Tweeted Cher did it on 'em
Fan Tweeted Cher did it on 'em, Cher eventually apologized U R right! Someone said I was dissed..I’ve been dissed b4, but instead of finding out… I just got defensive! I should know better! Dumb, Cher And Team Nicki Minaj Battle It Out On Twitter. This one would be a little difficult to believe if Rap-Up didn’t capture it in print, before some of the tweets were deleted. In one of the most unlikely (and thankfully, short-lived) “Twitter beefs” of the year, Cher (and a fan) accidentally started a war with Team Nicki Minaj, thanks to a little misinformation. The trouble began when one of Cher’s enthusiastic fans tweeted at the 65-year-old musician, “@cher did you know that b-tch @NickiMinaj dissed you in her song DIDITONEM?” which prompted Cher to respond with, “Ive seen lots of people come & go! No biggie!” Oh boy.
This Cher fan was referencing a line from Minaj’s Pink Friday album, which, in no way was intended as a diss. (“If you could turn back time--Cher/You used to be here but now you gone--Nair”). From there, things spiraled out of control a bit, when Minaj’s friend and employee Scaff Beezy caught wind of the tweet and began to fire back in her defense. "yo @cher listen to the words b4 you say dumb sh-t on twitter," he wrote. "do you know what a rap metaphore is??? TM is a cult you dont want it with!!"
Cher eventually apologized, admitting that she was at fault, but that didn’t stop the comments from Nicki’s irate fans, including one who wrote “WOW. Thought we were more mature than this. Like nicki didn’t even diss you. Listen to the song...”
Here, Cher tried to squash the whole thing, writing, “You’re right! Im wrong! U R Right! Someone said I was dissed…I’ve been dissed b4, but instead of finding out…I just got defensive! I should know better! Dumb. What does that say about me? Insecure? Want 2b understood? What?” After her apology, the agry tweets continued to roll in, prompting this frustrated reply, “Gimme a fkn break! Said I was dumb!”
Meanwhile, Nicki tuned in at the end of this fiasco and seemed to be amused by the whole thing, adding one brief tweet to end it all, “@Cher #stopit5.”
