Wiener said that it was a "very narrow piece of legislation to address two very discrete issues that are primarily impacting the Castro but could be elsewhere as well," he said. "I know there’s been a lot of discussion about this and the press has been obsessed with it and that’s fine. Wiener said that “we did hear from folks in the neighborhood that these are actually tangible issues that are happening in the Castro and so the legislation is important for that reason.”
