Thirsty home invader arrested, police say, Home Invasion for Beer - Timothy Snyder Arrested After Brawl in Apartment. Police say 36-year old Timothy Snyder broke into an apartment searching for beer, and when confronted by one of the men who lived there fought and cut him with a corkscrew.
The bizarre crime beat story unfolded at 4 a.m. on Saturday in Chicago, Illinois and police say Snyder reeked of booze when he busted in the door of an apartment and demanded beer from the fridge from a resident who was playing X-Box.
The two struggled and a roommate was awakened by the loud struggle and joined in with his roommate to subdue the alleged invader.
Police were called, but the man broke free before they arrived and that is when things got bloody.
"Tony said Snyder got up and the two struggled again.
“Then he gets back up and starts going at it. I grabbed his neck and pinned him to the wall and at that point he grabs my back and I feel like I got scratched by keys,” Tony said.
Tony (the resident who doesn't want his last name used) said he kicked Snyder in his groin and Snyder stopped moving.
After police arrived, Tony’s roommate pointed out his wound.
The damage: 28 staples and 25 dissolving deep-tissue stitches. The wound stretched from Tony's upper back down his right side to above the waist. Timothy Snyder beer, Timothy Snyder beer stabbing corkscrew, Timothy Snyder two counts of home invasion two counts of aggravated battery,
The Tribune adds that bond was set at $250,000.
