Four elderly golfers get hole-in-ones all in the same day. For most golfers, the dream of getting a hole-in-one is one of the things that many would like to accomplish but few actually do during their golfing careers.

However at Plantation Golf Club in Leesburg, Florida last week, four elderly golfer (all seventy or older) pulled off the impressive feat of each hitting a hole-in-one on the same day:

Within a span of about five hours last Tuesday, Don Starkey, Ron Kosits, Maynard Thompson and Wilson recorded holes-in-one at Plantation. Starkey’s and Kosits’ came on the par-72 Otter Creek course, and the others were on the par-71 Cranes Roost layout.

For Merlyn Wilson and the 74-year-old Starkey, whose ace came on the 132-yard 12th hole, the holes-in-one were their firsts. Kosits, 70, got his second, and Thompson, 74, is a veteran at sinking tee shots, getting his ninth.

One of the more amazing facts is the possible odds that it would take an occurrence like this to repeat itself:

According to numbers calculated by the National Hole-In-One Association in partnership with the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, the odds of four golfers getting holes-in-one on the same day at the same club is one in every 260,000 days (712.33 years).

So, I guess we just have to wait another 712 years for it to happen again.
