Jon Stewart and Nirvana. September 24 will mark the 20th anniversary since the release of Nirvana’s Nevermind. To commemorate the anniversary, Jon Stewart will host a Q&A session on his Comedy Central show with the band’s surviving members, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic.
The Associated Press reports that Stewart will host the event on SiriusXM for two hours, which will air on Sept. 24. The two-hour special will feature fans, Nirvana bandmembers Grohl and Novoselic, and Butch Vig, the producer behind Nevermind. Nevermind was the band's second album, selling 10 million units in the United States and features, "Smells Like Teen Spirit,” the hit that rocketed Nirvana into mainstream success.
SiriusXM will also launch the all-Nirvana channel, Nevermind Radio, on Sept. 23 until Sept. 28. The Hollywood Reporter reports Nevermind Radio will feature music from Nirvana through the course of their career, including from their three studio albums, Bleach (1989), Nevermind (1991) and In Utero (1994).
Former bassist, Novoselic, is leading a tribute concert on September 20 in Seattle, Wash.
