Lindsay Lohan to play 'Carrie' in remake?

Lindsay Lohan to play 'Carrie' in remake?
Lindsay Lohan to play 'Carrie' in remake? Stephen King has claimed that he is open to having Lindsay Lohan play the titular role in a planned Carrie remake.

It was revealed today that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, writer of Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark, is to bring a new adaptation of King's classic horror novel to the big screen.

When asked for his thoughts on the project, the 63-year-old author expressed doubt that Brian De Palma's 1976 flick could be outdone, but appeared excited by the prospect of seeing Lohan star.

He told Entertainment Weekly: "I've heard rumblings about a Carrie remake...who knows if it will happen?

"The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast."

King also named his dream directors for the Carrie remake, stating: "I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids - Lynch or Cronenberg."
