White iPhone 4 finally hitting shelves
White iPhone 4 finally hitting shelves
The wait is finally over, if there still was one.
After numerous false starts and countless jokes, the notorious white Apple iPhone began shipping to stores over the weekend.
Both AT&T and Verizon will sell the white iPhone, which was supposed to be released along with the black iPhone 4.
But production problems pulled the phone from the shelf before it ever appeared in stores or online for sales.
Now Apple Insider reports that the white iPhone 4 will hit stores by next week.

Your phone, yourself: When is tracking too much?
Your phone, yourself: When is tracking too much?
If you’re worried about privacy, you can turn off the function on your smartphone that tracks where you go. But that means giving up the services that probably made you want a smartphone in the first place. After all, how smart is an iPhone or an Android if you can’t use it to map your car trip or scan reviews of nearby restaurants? The debate over digital privacy flamed higher this week with news that Apple’s popular iPhones and iPads store users’ GPS coordinates for a year or more. Phones that run Google’s Android software also store users’ location data. And not only is the data stored — allowing anyone who can get their hands on the device to piece together a chillingly accurate profile of where you’ve been — but it’s also transmitted back to the companies to use for their own research.

Americas First No-Glasses 3-D Smart Phone
Americas First No-Glasses 3-D Smart Phone
Move over Apple: AT&T announces America's first no-glasses 3-D smart phoneIt's been a busy few days for AT&T.
First the company announced a $39billion buyout of Deutsche Telekom’s struggling T-Mobile USA.
Now they're planning to launch America's first 3-D smart phone in a matter of months.
Hot on the heels of the Nintendo 3-DS game device and its 3-D screen, the LG Thrill 4G will have a 3-D screen and will allow users to shoot 3-D video and 3-D stills with the dual 5-megapixel stereoscopic camera.
The Thrill will run Google's Android software and will be able to play games and YouTube clips in 3-D.
In addition to apps and games from Android Market, the phone will offer 3-D content via the 'LG 3-D Space,' which houses 3-D games, video clips and images.
It comes preloaded with 16GB of memory (8GB onboard plus an 8GB MicroSD card), can record and playback 3-D video in high definition through the HDMI-out port or steam content wirelessly through DLNA technology.
T-Mobile USA has already said it will sell a tablet computer from LG that can shoot 3-D video. However, it won't have a 3-D screen.

Broadband-speed internet on your mobile phone: Super-fast 4G services set for 2013
Licences for high-frequency analogue TV bandwidth could raise billions
Broadband-speed mobile network will be available in all corners of Britain
Britain already behind U.S. and Japan who have 4G networks
Hopes that 4G could raise as much as sale of 3G for £22.5bn
Licences for the latest generation of mobile internet – capable of delivering broadband speed to phones on the go – will be auctioned for billions of pounds in a year’s time, it emerged today.
Fourth-generation (4G) services, offering fast connections to British smartphones, laptops and tablet computers, will use the wireless spectrum historically used by analogue TV.
The government could raise huge sums by selling the rights to use the high frequencies between 800 MHz and 2.6 GHz, which are being switched off broadcasting as digital is rolled out.
The auction of 3G licences in 2000 raised a remarkable £22.5billion for the Government from phone companies.
Telecoms regulator Ofcom today revealed the auction will be held in the first quarter of 2012 and 4G services should be available from 2013.

Apple Sues Amazon Over App store
Apple Sues Amazon Over App store
Apple has filed a lawsuit against Amazon accusing the Web retail giant of copyright infringement over the name "app store."
The complaint, filed Friday, is over the name of Amazon's new store for mobile phone applications: It's called "Amazon Appstore."
Apple calls its iOS app store "App Store" and alleges that the Amazon Appstore name is too close -- illegally close -- to its trademark.
"Recently, Amazon has begun improperly using Apple's APP STORE mark in connection with Amazon's mobile software developer program," Apple said in its complaint. "Amazon has also taken actions which, on information and belief, evidence Amazon's intent to improperly use Apple's mark in connection with Amazon's mobile software download service. Amazon's present and intended uses are unauthorized and unlawful."
Amazon has yet to officially launch the Amazon Appstore, which is set to sell apps for Google's Android mobile operating system and be integrated into Amazon.com. Amazon began accepting developer submissions to its Amazon Appstore developer portal in January.
Officials at Amazon were unavailable to comment on the lawsuit Monday.

Gay Cure App
Gay Cure App
Apple Under Fire For Approving 'Gay Cure' iPhone App From Exodus International Apple is under fire for approving a controversial iPhone app created by a religious organization that seeks to help gay individuals become heterosexual.
The application, "Exodus International," was created by a ministry of the same name that says its mission is to "[mobilize] the body of Christ to minister grace and truth to a world impacted by homosexuality."
The app's description notes, "With over 35 years of ministry experience, Exodus is committed to encouraging, educating and equipping the Body of Christ to address the issue of homosexuality with grace and truth."
It received a "4" rating from Apple, which indicates the company considered the app to contain "no objectionable material."
Yet many disagree with Apple's assessment and are demanding that it be removed.
